Vietnam Veterans Day at Manasquan High School
May 24, 2023 @ 7:15 am - 10:00 am
Dear Vietnam Veterans,
The Daughters of the American Revolution, in conjunction with Manasquan High School’s History Honor Society and the Manasquan V.F.W. Post 1838, have organized a Vietnam War Commemoration on Wednesday, May 24th, 2023. The objectives of the commemoration are:
- To thank and honor veterans of the Vietnam War.
- To highlight the service of the Armed Forces during the Vietnam War.
- To pay tribute to the contributions made on the home front by the people of the United States during the Vietnam War.
- To highlight the advances in technology, sciences, and medicine related to military research conducted during the Vietnam War.
- To recognize the contributions and sacrifices made by the allies of the United State during the Vietnam War.
As a veteran of the Vietnam War, we would like to extend an invitation to you to come to Manasquan High School on May 24th to be a part of the commemoration. The day will start at 7:15 with a welcome breakfast in the school’s library. Guests are free to arrive throughout the day and stay for as long as they wish. Throughout the day, students will be coming down to talk to you and learn about your experiences. Please share this invitation with other Vietnam Veterans.
Anyone interested in speaking to a class, please let us know, as well as what topic you wish to speak about so that can be arranged. For example, if you wish to speak about your overall experiences in Vietnam, you can speak to a history class. If there is a particular book that impacted your time there, you can speak to an English class.
If you plan on attending, please RSVP to James Fagen at jfagen@manasquanboe.org.
